End of Shift: A Treasury of Real Stories by Real Nurses (Winter 2014 tablet app/ebook) has been recognized as a Grand Award winner in the Electronic Media, For Profit, Large Office category. The End of Shift app/ebook is a quarterly collection of heartwarming, inspirational stories written by members of our nurse audience. has been honored twice in the 27th Annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence, a competition for communications professionals. This is the third consecutive year in which has received APEX awards, but it is the first year in which we’ve been named a Grand Award winner. In addition, this is the first time that has been recognized in categories beyond feature writing.

Gannett Healthcare Group was named an Eddie finalist by Folio in the Standalone Digital Magazine – General category, for the June 2014 ebook, “End of Shift: A Treasury of Real Stories by Real Nurses.” Folio is a multi-channel resource for the magazine and online media industry. Staff receive countless End of Shift submissions from nurses, so decided to launch a quarterly End of Shift ebook to showcase more of these nurses’ first-person stories.
